Job Description

General Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall management of Human Resource functions for the organization.  This includes the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures, which will strengthen the dynamic growth of our people, advocate for a customer service philosophy, and expand our role as the employee of choice in our area.


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a business management, business administration, or HR related field required
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in employee relations.
  3. Experience and strong knowledge base of employment law.
  4. SPHR/PHR preferred.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and maintain Human Resource policies for the organization consistent with regulatory requirements and its mission, vision, and values.
  2. Direct the activities of Recruitment Employment Services to assist all departments in filling positions, and orienting new employees to the organization.
  3. Facilitate a wide range of Employee Relations activities to support a positive work environment including, employee recognition activities, work life classes, self-improvement classes, and dependent care referral services.
  4. Facilitate employee grievance procedures by serving as the lead person to coordinate the grievance process.  This includes informal complaints and formal written complaints.
  5. Ensure the regulatory Human Resource data requirements reporting are met.
  6. Ensure that HFAP Human Resource standards are met.
  7. Manage issues related to Labor Law by ensuring that Human Resource practices are up to date, personnel receive appropriate training, and any issues are addressed appropriately including referral to legal services.
  8. Manage the contract for E.A.P. services and ensure that all employees are made aware of this benefit coordinate Critical Incident Stress Debriefing process.
  9. Provide consultation to managers and supervisors regarding interpretation of Human Resource policies.
  10. Maintain an H.R.I.S. to meet internal and external requirements.
  11. Participate on committees, project teams, or other special assignments as needed.
  12. Directs Employee Health, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Safety and Wellness.
  13. Participates in community activities, boards and related outreach initiatives.
  14. Promotes diversity within the Metro Health System.

  • Bachelors in Human Resources
  • AND
  • Bachelors in Psychology
  • AND
  • Bachelors in Business Administration
Optional Licenses And Certificates:
  • SPHR Senior Professional in Human Resources (Preferred)
